What? You’re considering using us to install your PPF? Well, that’s wonderful!
We have been installing PPF on Teslas since 2012. Our installers have over a decade of experience with PPF and perform dozens of installs every week - about 20 on average. They are obsessive about the PPF they apply. Seriously - I’ve watched them spend hours making the tiniest seam as invisible as possible!
Nope, that’s not the purpose of PPF. It is a protective layer - not a cosmetic layer. But if you’re interested in making your Tesla look like new and reducing the need to wax it, check out our premium line of nano ceramic coatings!
Oooh, what an excellent question. You’ve obviously done your homework. No, we do not use adhesive promoter, which is a super-glue-like substance that is applied to reduce the drying time. But adhesive promoters increase the likelihood of pulling the paint off the car if the PPF has to be removed, so we prefer the old-fashioned method of waiting. It’s cheaper and causes fewer issues down the road.
No, not every centimeter. This just isn’t possible when trying to apply a flat film to a car with rounded edges. Our installers cover as much of the car as they can without stretching the film. Sometimes they may need to make relief cuts to help the film lie as smoothly as possible. Sometimes they have to leave seams. It’s virtually impossible to apply PPF to a car without a seam or two.
The installation environment is vital to the success of the PPF application. We take every reasonable precaution to reduce the presence of dust and debris - we apply in a special, climate-controlled room with multiple air filters. However, short of applying PPF in a clean room with our installers wearing bunny suits and masks, it’s possible that debris will be present.
We carry two PPF brands: SunTek and S-TEK (despite their similar names, these are different brands). SunTek is our most popular and most affordable brand. It’s comparable to most of the more well-known PPF brands (XPEL, 3M). We’ve used other brands in the past and found it hard to work with, so we prefer SunTek.
S-TEK is our most premium film brand, and we’re the only car care studio in Houston that was chosen to carry it. S-TEK is top-of-the-line, has the most longevity, and looks the best when applied.
We also carry “Fashion PPF” that has all the benefits of PPF vs. conventional Vinyl Wrapping: we can turn any paintwork into matte, carbon fiber, gloss black, etc.
